PSAT information
All Juniors are invited to take the PSAT! All students must preregister and pay for the test. This is an optional test but is required for students who wish to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship.
When-October 30, 2019, 8am
Where- APSU (exact location TBA)
Cost-$17 - exact cash or check (Middle College at APSU). Test fees are nonrefundable.
Sign up- PSAT sign ups will be at the following times in my office, MX 212, for any junior who would like to take the test.
Wednesday, Sept 11- 9:30-10:00 and 11:30-12:00
Thursday, Sept 12 – 10:30-11:00 and 12:15-12:45
The PSAT is not required. Student must pay in order to have a test ordered.
A few notes-
If you pay for a test and end up not testing, you will not get a refund.
Please note that the test will be October 30th, 8:30-11:30. If you have a college class during this time, this will count as an absence.

ACT waivers are available for students who meet one or more of the following:
Who should retake the ACT? A student who
· has a low subscore that would prevent him/her from being accepted to their college.
· has a low subscore that would prevent him/her from being able to take their desired classes in college.
· did not meet all 4 benchmarks and is aiming for an Honors Diploma
· needs a 21 Composite to be eligible for the HOPE Lottery Scholarship
· needs a higher composite to be eligible for additional scholarships
· needs an ACT writing score for a college he/she is applying to

- On free/reduced lunch; In foster home, ward of state, homeless;
- Family receives low income public assistance or lives in federally subsidized housing;
- Family’s income is at or below the USDA levels for free/reduced income.
